Davidson Dales' Colliery Alick earns 5th place

At less than 100 days under saddle, Colliery Alick placed 5th in his first recognized Horse Trials (3-day eventing) competition at RAM TAP in Fresno, California. On October 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, 2005, Alick competed along with 19 other horses in the Beginner Novice division at the popular show. Alick was a favorite among the judges and he had a profusion of fans cheering him on as he and his rider, Sandy Boling, took on many full-sized horses at 16hh and over. Most of the competitors and spectators at RAM TAP had never met a Dales Pony before, and Alick proved a most capable breed Ambassador.

Alick did well on his dressage test, placing 11th overall. But he cleaned up in Cross Country when he finished without a single jump penalty, moving him up to 5th place. He held on to his placing the final day during Stadium Jumping even though he brought down a rail on his last oxer. Davidson Dales is very proud of Alick and his "can do" attitude. We can't wait to see what he will accomplish in 2006!
