Dessie and Kelly pick up two second place ribbons at their first ADS Competition!
Once again the weather was tough, but the Dales Ponies showed us just what they are made of at the Fourth Annual Pleasure Days Carriage Driving competition in San Miguel, CA. The two-day pleasure driving show was judged by Muffy Seaton from South Carolina and Geraldine Pearson from Oregon. The winds were high and unrelenting on Saturday May 5th, sending many competitors packing up for home Saturday night.
With only 34 days under harness, Dessie is following in Alick's footsteps as a top Dales Pony Ambassador. The 5-year-old mare earned a second place in the "Working Pony - Novice Driver" and "Cross Country Obstacles - Novice Driver" classes and a fourth place in "Town and Country Obstacles - Novice Driver" class. Spectators, competitors, and judges alike were amazed at the beautiful pony who took the high winds, other competitors, and new surroundings in stride!
Roger and Alick won their first class, "Turnout - Open Pony", and brought home 2 seconds, 2 thirds, and a fourth! Alick was named reserve Champion Pony after Trudy Johnson and her Mexican Draft Pony won the Champion title.
