Alick, Dessie, and Chanel make a splash at the West Coast Connemara Show!

Alick and Dessie both made their debut at the first M&M Pony classes at the West Coast Connemara show August 24th-26th. This show received entries for 19 M&M ponies, with 16 ponies actually competing in two in hand classes -- 2 and under in hand, and 3 and over in hand.

This show was especially significant as it was judged by the Chairperson of the UK's National Pony Society, Linda Impey. Alick and Dessie admirably represented the Dales Pony breed in the 3 and over class along with 2 Welsh Ponies, 3 Welsh Cobs, 4 Fell Ponies, and 2 Highland Ponies. Ms. Impey decided to split the class into Welsh (5) and non-Welsh (8). Alick won the non-Welsh division, with Dessie (handled by her owner, Kelly Davidson) getting an impressive third place, beating a very nice Fell Pony stallion! Alick then went into the ring with the winners from the Welsh 3 and over division and the M&M pony 2 and under class to win his third Supreme Grand Champion M&M Pony title in two years. He finished the day by being named Reserve Best in Show!

Our lovely Welsh Cob mare Clanfair Chanel won a third place in the in-hand 3 and over Welsh Division, a third place in the Ridden M&M class with her rider Adrienne Grasso, and then won a First Place against 8 other ponies and cobs in the Pleasure Driving class judged by Ms. Leslie Berndle! Chanel was expertly driven by Ms. Beverly Minor. It was a great day for the Davidson Dales team!
